- கி.ஜனார்த்தனன் Nammalwar is considered to be the leader of the Sri Vaishnava clan. You need not be born into a specific caste, race or gender to become a Sri Vaishnava, or an auspicious devotee of Perumal. Genuine interest (and the regulations you agree to abide by to, due to that interest) is the only qualification. Born in Southern Tamil Nadu thousands of years back, Nammalwar is also known as Parangusa, or Satakopa. It is definitely a matter of pride to me that my own ancestors are Pandyas, and the land of origin of Nammalwar and Sri Andal are within Pandya Nadu.  For Nammalwar, he is said not to have cried at all as a baby.   நமோ நாராயணாய, ஸ்ரீமதே ராமானுஜாய நமக - கி.ஜனார்த்தனன்  Who is God? He is the sum of all auspicious qualities (सर्व कल्याण गुणात्मने). That is the simplest, most pleasant definition of the Supreme Being. With skin the colour of rain-clouds, no one else can be as giving, nurturing and merciful as Lord Narayana. கடவுள் என்பவர் அளவில்லா விளையாட்டு உடையவர்,  முத்தொழிலான படைத்தல், காத்தல், அழித்தல் ஆகியவற்றைச் செய்ய வல்லவர். திருமால் என்பவர் சத்தியத்தின் உண்மை வடிவாக இருப்பதால் அவர் எது உளது என்கிறாரோ அதுவே உண்மையாகிறது.  Kambar, is the author of the Ramavataram, a text in Tamil based on Valmiki's Sanskrit Epic, the Ramayana. Clearly with the description of God, while not immediately naming Him, Kambar reveals himself to be of Visistadvaitic belief (qualified Monism).   - கி.ஜனார்த்தனன் அச்சுதன் ( अच्युत )  என்றென்றும் நீடிக்கும் அமரத்தன்மையை அளிப்பவன். எனவே, பரம்பொருள் ஆகிய நாராயணனுக்கு நிகரானது எதுவும் இல்லை. தரிசனத்திற்காக ( சமயத்திற்காக) தரிசனத்தை (கண்களை) இழந்த கூரத்தாழ்வார் அருளிய தனியன் எனப்படும் புகழராம்.  Kurathalwar was an excellent disciple of Ramanuja, who loved him and cared for him far more than a mother possibly could. This comparison to a mother is not to be frivolously used. Hare Krishna! Anyone knows the story of how Sri Kurathalwar was blinded by the fanatical Chola King, who could not tolerate a religion different that his own?   The only person who can pray for the moksha, or liberation for a person who caused him blindness.
